Volunteer Firefighting

“The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker.”  (Helen Keller)

We are always looking for new heroes, workers, and volunteers interested in training and learning how to serve in the emergency services field.

With the fire department being a combination fire department, we are always looking for volunteers interested in becoming trained and educated in the emergency services field. The fire department will pay for that education and training, so all you have to do is let us know that you are interested.

We know that it is stressful reaching out to join an organization that you may not know much about, but please understand that we need you, and your assistance can truly help the community. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with the Union Volunteer Fire Department, please fill-in the information below and press submit, it’s that simple. We will reach out to you and help you achieve your goals of becoming a volunteer firefighter or medical responder with Union Volunteer Fire Department.

All members need to make a firm commitment to the Department. The expectations are:

  • All members will treat others in a professional and respectful manner
  • You will be required to follow all rules and regulations of the Department

The Officers of the Department will be in charge at all emergency calls and training sessions. They will provide you with what protective equipment they deem necessary and will provide the training and guidance you will require for membership.

A background check will be done on you. If any false information is found on your application, you will be terminated from membership.
